Okay.

So a while back there was a challenge at [livejournal.com profile] picspammy to picspam short subjects. I started this and then promptly forgot about it until I was going through my folders. Better late than never for my favourite music video I always say and a picspam is a picspam, regardless of the occasion.

and it came to me then that every plan is a tiny prayer to father time. )

I mentioned this to someone (okay, [livejournal.com profile] shelightsupwell & [livejournal.com profile] pulltheripchord) and I am too tired to do much else tonight. I thought it would be kind of fun and I enjoyed doing the one I did for [livejournal.com profile] picspammy. Thus a Marvel themed one. In the end, it turned out to be huge. So remember, I warned you.

[livejournal.com profile] picspammy. challenge again. And can I just say that Firefly caps, while beautifully shot are horribly coloured and shaded and I never noticed how dark and weird they were before? FAIL.

I swear to high heaven I am not normally this spammy with the polls. I think I have just lost my mind and am just waiting for it to come wandering back. This might take somewhere between four to six days to weeks, but you know? I can wait.

The Rules: Post info about ONE Supreme Court decision, modern or historic, to your lj. (Any decision, as long as it's not Roe v. Wade.) For those who see this on your f-list, take the meme to your OWN lj to spread the fun.

Marbury v. Madison (1803):
Essentially it created Judicial Review, and established that the Supreme Court's jurisdiction could not be expanded without permission from Congress. In a nutshell: before this was hammered out, the Supreme Court could check-and-balance out Congress and the President, but no one was really holding court over whether or not they were being Constitutional. This ruling established that it was within the power of the Supreme Court to strike down acts of Congress that were unconsitutional. All of this was brought to you by William Marbury, who was one of the infamous Midnight Judges appointed by John Adams.

I have been relatively good so far about not spewing my politics forth into the internet (those who have interact with me in RL have not been so lucky -- I have been loud, proud and vehement about many things), but as I catch up on my news here at work as my shift ends I cannot contain myself. Things happen and I won't be sorry for my personal beliefs and I don't think that anyone should ever be.
the longest political ramble ever )
This country is supposed to be about opportunity and choice and the freedom to be who you want to be and chose to be and so many great things that people claim to have, but instantly forget about the instant conflicting viewpoints get involved. Maybe it's just the idealist in me, but people should wake up and realize that part of being a human being is stepping outside the world the grew up in and not black and white choice between losing what you hold dear and changing the world. We're in all this together. Let's kind of act like it for a change.

I have to do the obvious thing here, since I was a lame-brain and went to bed before midnight last night (I had a headache and was trying to prevent murder!).

Apparently in my sleeping state I missed some serious awesome by [livejournal.com profile] callmecaito (who is always awesome) and the rest of my fellow [livejournal.com profile] drunkoncheese.

It is suggested that you watch them in order, since it makes the most since (plus the first one combines Twilight and HSM. I KID YOU NOT).

And this is a semi-educational video about wank & the internet. :D YAY!

Just a heads up, there is a like a negative value to this update. In fact, it might make you less intelligent by viewing it. I don't know why, it just might.

FIRST IS THE BEST THING I HAVE FOUND ALL DAY:

I will be watching the entire film tomorrow, so anyone who wants to watch it with me (if you need the hookup, let me know, and I'll give it to you & we will have a GROUP CHAT OF CRACK). I also promise to stop spamming people with this video even though the cartwheels are totally worth it.

I've made up an Olympics drinking game. It's amazing, no really, but then again all drinking games are.

And lastly I've cracked up the fickle pressures of my more adorable fandoms and now instead of just modding [livejournal.com profile] daily_pace (which is beautiful), I now have [livejournal.com profile] daily_friel since you can't have one without the other, right? RIGHT?

See? Less intelligent already.
lookslikelove: (dw.determination comes from top down)
Okay, I blame the fact that a) I tried to sleep & failed and b) [livejournal.com profile] saint_renegade posted the High School Musical 3 trailer and I watched it. Now I am plagued by questions such as "how are all these short guys playing basketball?" and "where is the 'she made out with someone else by her locker' drama??".

But more importantly, I have to ask one really big question. Since it's five am and I've lost my mind.

don't they all just bear a freakish resemblance to each other? )

God. I hate that I googled stuff for this. Really, I do. Except not at all.

This is for everyone who really seems to need it. Especially after today (or yesterday).

And in the end, being loved by one person is much better than being frustrated by, loathed by, apathetic towards a whole mess of people. It only ever takes just one (but the more the merrier).

Have a good day everyone.

Plus it can only get better as Nelson Mandela is no longer a terrorist in the US.
